Nations that get units without recruiting

Some nations gain units by free spawn or summoning instead of recruiting them. This page says what the wiki shows about it so far, and what is still unknown.

Most nations build their army by recruiting troops and commanders in provinces they own. Players report that a few nations work differently: part of their army arrives by free spawn or by summoning, with no recruiting at all. The two nations players name most often are Lemuria in the Late Age and R’lyeh.

What the wiki shows today

The unit and nation pages are built from the Dom6 Inspector’s data. Each nation page lists the units that data says the nation can recruit or summon by spell, and each unit page lists the nations that can field it. That list does not separate recruited units from summoned ones, and it does not show free spawns. The Inspector itself does not list the units of these nations as free spawns either.

Two nations show no recruitable mage in that data, so their magic paths are empty here: Lemuria in the Late Age and Ermor in the Middle Age.

What we do not know yet

  • Which units each of these nations receives without recruiting them.
  • What triggers a spawn, how often it happens, and how many units arrive.
  • Whether the rule depends on the province, the dominion, the scales or the turn.

What happens next

These are questions for our own tests: a game hosted for several turns with one of these nations, with what arrives written down. When a result is measured it will be published here with how many times it was checked, and the nation pages will gain a section from it. Until then, treat any number you read elsewhere as unchecked.
